Dr. Marilyn Draxl is an organizational psychologist working as a Senior Consultant with Advantexe. After 18 years of developing international expertise in organizational and leadership development, Marilynn is presently taking on projects with organizations looking to establish an international footprint in low-cost manufacturing countries.

She serves as a global HR consultant helping her clients to improve their worldwide Human Capital Management processes.

Marilyn was a Senior Consultant for the Strategic Management Group, Inc. (SMG), an international consulting and training company. As part of their Solutions Integration Group, she was responsible for working with organizations to improve the implementation of strategic initiatives through the use of simulations in blended learning solutions. She specialized in performance analysis, process design, implementation and evaluation and change management. Marilyn worked with many leading Fortune 500 companies in this capacity including AMD, Eaton, EDS, Ernst & Young, Panasonic, PepsiCo, Motorola, Veritas, and Verizon.

Marilyn also served in SMG’s global leadership practice, working with firms to improve their processes for assessing leadership potential, identifying knowledge and skill gaps, coaching for development, and building leadership competence in areas that support strategy. She helped clients enhance their leadership development processes through the addition of learning laboratories, 360-degree feedback, assessment simulations, business learning projects, and coaching capability. She served as a developmental coach for senior leaders and executives in organizations such as Allergan, AMD, American Water, Corning Incorporated, IRS, Philips, Veritas, and the Federal Reserve Bank of NY.

Marilyn joined SMG in 1999 after 12 years as Senior Consultant for Conceptual Systems, a human resources consulting firm, as a result of a merger between the two companies. Her specialization was helping firms improve critical human capital management processes, e.g., recruitment, selection and on-boarding, performance management, learning solutions, succession planning, and career development. As part of this work, Marilyn built expertise in competency modeling and measurement, including 360-degree assessment surveys, and in designing and implementing assessment centers. Some of her clients during the CSI years were Abbott Laboratories, American President Lines, BP Amoco, Corning Incorporated, Fleet Boston, IRS, Lever, Procter and Gamble, and the World Bank.

Prior to CSI/SMG, Marilyn was Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at the University of Maryland University College where she was responsible for academic policy and oversaw curriculum and development planning for credit programs. During her tenure, Marilyn worked with the nuclear industry to create one of the first accredited, online nuclear engineering degree programs for distance learners.

Other positions Marilyn held at the University of Maryland include Assistant Dean, Statewide Delivery; Director, Institutional Research; Director, Program Evaluation; and Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology. As an Assistant Professor, she lived abroad and delivered programs in UM’s European, Asian and Atlantic Divisions.

Marilyn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marymount Manhattan College and a doctorate in Behavioral Research Psychology from Adelphi University's Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies. Her areas of specialization were organizational behavior, research design and analysis, and program evaluation.
